Jammu and Kashmir’s Youth in Pune Connect with Lt Governor: Catalysts for Change

Pune, Aug 10, 2023: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha engaged in a meaningful interaction with the youth of Jammu and Kashmir who are pursuing their studies in Pune. The event was organized by the ‘Sarhad’ Civil Society group, providing a platform for exchange and dialogue.

During his address, Lt Governor Shri Manoj Sinha highlighted the remarkable transformation that Jammu and Kashmir has undergone in recent years. He underscored the pivotal role that the youth generation plays in driving social and economic progress in the Union Territory.

“The youth of Jammu and Kashmir are becoming ambassadors of the new region, both within India and around the world. As Jammu and Kashmir undergoes positive changes, our young generation is realizing its full potential and actively contributing to the nation-building process,” stated the Lt Governor.

Furthermore, Lt Governor Shri Manoj Sinha emphasized the significance of cultivating a scientific mindset, critical thinking, creativity, and the development of individual personalities for comprehensive growth.

He extended his appreciation to the ‘Sarhad’ organization for its collaborative efforts with the District Administration Bandipora, which led to the transformation of Aragam village into a book village. The organization’s other initiatives, such as the Valley of Knowledge, Health Village, and Literary Floating Festival on Wular Lake, were also acknowledged for their positive impact.

The Lt Governor highlighted the ‘Pune for Kashmir’ program, an initiative by Sarhad aimed at fostering socio-cultural and educational exchanges between the two regions. This initiative not only brings people from the regions closer but also embodies the essence of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (One India, Great India).

In his closing remarks, the Lt Governor extended a warm invitation to the youth from Pune to visit Jammu and Kashmir, offering them the chance to witness firsthand the transformative journey that the Union Territory is undergoing.

During the event, Lt Governor Shri Manoj Sinha also released a book titled “Lalla,” authored by Ms. Aruna Dhere, which focuses on Yogini Lalleshwari. The Lt Governor congratulated the author for her exceptional work and wished her success in her future endeavors.

Notable attendees at the event included Sh. Vinod Tawde, National General Secretary of BJP; Sh. Sanjay Nahar, Founder of Sarhad; prominent individuals from various spheres of life; students; members of Sarhad; and a significant number of youth from Jammu and Kashmir. The gathering provided a platform for meaningful interaction and exchange of ideas, underscoring the importance of youth engagement in the growth and progress of the Union Territory and the nation as a whole.
