Inside BJP’s Pune Nomination: Mohol’s Candidature and Responses from Mulik, Deodhar

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Murlidhar Mohol, a former city mayor and long-time party worker, as its candidate for the Pune Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming general elections. Mohol’s selection over other contenders like Jagdish Mulick and Sunil Deodhar has sparked reactions within the party.

Expressing his gratitude, Mohol remarked on his decades-long association with the BJP and his commitment to serving the people. Meanwhile, Mulick and Deodhar responded positively to Mohol’s nomination, emphasizing their dedication to public service and extending congratulations to the chosen candidate.

Mulik, in a statement, reaffirmed his commitment to the people and pledged to maintain their trust through transparent and diligent work. Deodhar congratulated Mohol on his nomination and pledged continued support.

At 50 years old, Mohol brings a Maratha representation to the BJP’s candidature. With a background in local politics, including four terms as a corporator in the Pune Municipal Corporation, Mohol’s nomination underscores the party’s strategy for the Pune constituency. Raised in Mulshi, Mohol’s journey from a wrestling enthusiast to a prominent political figure reflects his deep roots in the community.

Having started his political journey with the BJP three decades ago, Mohol’s rise through the ranks, including his close ties with late BJP leader Gopinath Munde and current Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, showcases his political acumen and connections within the party.
