Pune, 19th October 2023: The Income Tax Department has initiated an extensive search operation at multiple locations connected to a prominent jeweler in the city. Over 40 vehicles bearing Income Tax Department officials descended upon the well-known Nilkanth Jewelers’ showroom and the residence of the jeweler’s director, sparking conversations and speculation across Pune. Key areas like Hadapsar, Magarpatta, and Baner are among those currently being combed by the officials. Reports indicate that the raids commenced in the early hours of Thursday.
The operation involves over 50 officials from the Income Tax Department who are meticulously scrutinizing every facet of the jeweler’s business operations. Neelkanth Jewellers, a well-established name in Pune, boasts a presence with ten branches throughout the city.
The scope of this scrutiny extends to all of Neelkanth Jewellers’ branches and the residence of the jeweler’s director. As of now, the specific reasons for these searches have not been officially disclosed. It is anticipated that this investigation may persist throughout the day and could possibly extend further.
