Inclusivity in Education: Pune’s New Schools Welcome Dhangar Community Students

In a significant stride toward enhancing education in Pune district, authorities have granted approval for the establishment of two English medium residential schools, with a special focus on facilitating the education of students from the Dhangar community.

Resident Deputy Collector, Jyoti Kadam, who presided over a district-level committee meeting dedicated to implementing various initiatives from the social justice and special assistance department and the other backward Bahujan welfare department, put forward the idea of streamlining the admission process for Dhangar community students into these newly approved residential schools.

The meeting, which was attended by Assistant Commissioner of the Social Welfare Department, Vishal Londhe, highlighted the importance of prioritizing the admission of Dhangar community students to English medium residential schools. The approved educational institutions are Dattakala International School and Junior College, located in Chincholi, Daund taluka, and Sri Venkateswara English Medium School, situated in Walchandnagar, Indapur taluka.

In addition to addressing educational initiatives, Jyoti Kadam stressed the need for a comprehensive review of cases filed under the Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with a thorough examination of pending cases. She emphasized the shared responsibility of district-level committee members and non-governmental participants to actively contribute to the effective implementation of all departmental schemes.
