Hand Grenade Unearthed During Pune Metro Excavation Sends Shockwaves

In a startling turn of events, a hand grenade was discovered during Pune Metro excavation work in the Baner area, near the IISER institute. The alarming find has raised concerns about the safety of the ongoing metro project and the potential risks associated with such discoveries.

The incident unfolded as metro construction crews were digging the land, unearthing the hand grenade and prompting an immediate response from the bomb detection team. Rapid efforts were undertaken to defuse the explosive device, ensuring the safety of the surrounding area.

To manage the situation effectively, traffic from Baner to University was temporarily halted while the bomb disposal team addressed the threat. The incident drew the attention of the Chatu-Sringi Police Station, with Senior Police Inspector Balaji Pande leading the response team.
