Gratitude in the Classroom: Pune’s Shankarao More Vidyalaya Alumni Honor Teachers

Former students of Shankarao More Vidyalaya at Bharti Vidyapeeth campus in Kothrud, Pune, experienced a heartwarming and nostalgic reunion as they gathered at the Institute of Physics to celebrate Teacher’s Day after a gap of 32 years. This special event was a heartfelt expression of gratitude to their teachers, who had left a lasting impact on their lives through their unique teaching styles.

The reunion brought together former teachers and students, filling the atmosphere with joy and cherished memories. In a touching gesture, the distinguished teachers of the past were honored with lifetime achievement awards by the grateful alumni, a tribute that deeply touched the hearts of the educators.

Former students traveled from various parts of America and Maharashtra to participate in this memorable reunion. The Shankarao More Vidyalaya Alumni Association, in collaboration with the Institute of Physics, organized this event, which not only marked the 10th-grade class reunion of the 1991 batch but also included a heartwarming ceremony to honor their beloved teachers.

After three long decades, former students found themselves once again in a classroom setting reminiscent of their 10th-grade days, at the Institute of Physics.

The event provided an opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of retired senior teachers, including Eknath Dandge, Bhausaheb Nikam, Madhukar Patil, Smita Satpute, Bansode Sir, Vilasrao Pawar, Arundhati Mahambere, Nitin Mhetre, Suvarna Mane, Suchitra Walunj, and Snehalata Pawar.

Professor Pramod Jadhav, the Director of the Institute of Physics (IOP), commended the dedication and hard work of these teachers, highlighting that the knowledge imparted by them had empowered numerous students to excel in their respective fields.

The reunion witnessed enthusiastic participation from a multitude of alumni, including those who traveled from the USA. It served as a heartwarming reminder of the profound and enduring bond between teachers and their students, a connection that transcends the passage of time.
