Ghanaian Delegation Explores Pune’s MSEDCL for Technological Insights

A delegation of senior management officers from the Electricity Company of Ghana Limited embarked on a fruitful visit to the Pune Regional Office of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) on October 26th. During their visit, they delved into the technological advancements and customer-centric initiatives implemented by MSEDCL. Furthermore, the delegation expressed their aspiration for collaboration with MSEDCL, specifically in the realms of technical training, accounting, and human resources.

The Ghanaian delegation, which included Senior Administrative Officers Solomon Mensah (Training & Development), Ebenezer Ghunanye (Operations), and Ibrahim Yakubu (Maintenance), received a warm welcome from Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar. The visit also saw the presence of significant figures such as Atul Thakar, President of the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships, Superintending Engineer Arvind Bulbule, Assistant General Manager Madhuri Raut, and other notable attendees.

The visiting delegation had the opportunity to tour various crucial facilities at MSEDCL, including the ‘SCADA’ Centre, Meter Testing Lab, and Training Centre. Subsequently, a productive discussion took place in the ‘Prakashdoot’ auditorium, where they engaged in in-depth conversations about numerous power sector matters with senior Mahavitaran (MSEDCL) officials. Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar provided valuable insights into Mahavitran’s customer service and technical innovations, addressing various aspects of the power distribution system. The Ghanaian delegation particularly lauded MSEDCL’s centralized billing system, photo meter reading, meter reading app, mobile app for consumers, and the solar power generation projects catering to both domestic and agricultural consumers.

The discussion was skillfully moderated by Deputy Executive Engineer Dr. Santosh Patni and witnessed the participation of members from the AOTS Alumni Society of Central India, including Shukalendu Soman, Milind Joshi, Sudhanshu Kashikar, along with other officials representing both organizations.
