Pune News: In a shocking incident, an eatery manager, Vicky Raju Chandaliya (31), was targeted in an attack by a gang of seven assailants in Yerawada. The assailants, demanding Rs 20,000 in ‘hafta’ (protection money), resorted to violence when their demand was refused.

- The attack occurred at an eatery opposite Agrasen High School in Yerawada, approximately an hour past midnight on Thursday.
- Vicky Raju Chandaliya, along with his brother Rahul, manages the eatery on behalf of its owner, a woman.
- According to Inspector (Crime) Rahul Jagdale of the Yerawada police, the gang demanded protection money from Vicky before launching the assault.
Arrests Made and Suspects:
- Five out of the seven assailants have been apprehended on charges including attempted murder, assault, and extortion.
- The arrested individuals are identified as Akshay Chandaliya (24), Aman Chandaliya (27), Abhishek Chandaliya (27), Sandesh Jadhav (18), and Sushant Kamble (29).
- One accomplice, Sanket Taru, is currently evading arrest.
