Flight Chaos: 11 Pune to Delhi Flights Cancelled Amidst Zero Visibility

In a disruption to travel plans, 11 flights from Pune bound for various North Indian destinations had to be cancelled on Sunday, January 14. The cause behind this unexpected turn of events was the dense fog shrouding Delhi Airport, resulting in zero visibility.

Passengers, anticipating a smooth journey, faced not only inconvenience but also expressed their frustration on social media platforms. Soniya Sharma, one of the affected flyers, vented her disappointment on X, blaming IndiGo Airlines for disrupting her Lohri celebration with the abrupt cancellation. Adding to the criticism, she highlighted the subpar customer service at Pune Airport, describing it as “pathetic” and citing lengthy delays in resolving passenger queries.

Tanmoy, another affected traveler, took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with IndiGo Airlines, citing a previous experience. He narrated how a flight from Kolkata to Pune experienced a series of delays, leaving passengers uncertain about the actual departure time.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by passengers, Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke addressed the situation. He revealed that a total of 11 flights had been canceled due to adverse weather conditions, and efforts were being made by the airlines to minimize the inconvenience caused to travelers. Dhoke also assured that the Pune Airport administration and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) were actively implementing measures to ensure the comfort and convenience of affected passengers.
