Fadnavis Assures Full Support to Hyundai Motor India’s Rs 7000 Crore Investment in Talegaon, Pune

Talegaon, Pune – Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met with Kim Unsoo, MD and CEO of Hyundai Motor India (HMI), along with Executive Director J.W Ryu and senior officials from HMI to discuss Hyundai’s monumental investment of ₹7000 crores in Talegaon, Pune.

In a tweet following the meeting, Fadnavis expressed his satisfaction, stating that Hyundai executives provided detailed insights into the ambitious investment plans for Talegaon. He added, “They also sought advice and assistance on various aspects, and I assured them on behalf of our government of full support to ensure smooth implementation.”

This substantial investment marks Hyundai’s initiation of the Hyundai Beyond Tamil Nadu project, marking a significant expansion beyond their successful 25-year presence in Tamil Nadu.

The Hyundai executives are scheduled to visit Davos next week to formalize the commitment through signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Maharashtra, solidifying the partnership between Hyundai Motor India and the state.

Fadnavis, in his tweet, conveyed the government’s eagerness to welcome and facilitate Hyundai’s significant contribution towards establishing a world-class manufacturing facility in Maharashtra. He emphasized the crucial role of Hyundai’s investment in generating employment opportunities and fostering technological advancement within the state.

This strategic collaboration is poised to strengthen Maharashtra’s position as a key player in the automotive industry, fostering economic growth and development in the region.
