F Residences Society: Pioneering Eco-Friendly Measures for Environmental Preservation in Balewadi

Balewadi, Pune – In a remarkable display of commitment to environmental conservation, F Residences, a society based in Balewadi, Pune, has undertaken several eco-friendly initiatives to promote sustainability and ecological preservation within their premises.

Led by Madhusudan Bansal, Chairman of F Residences, the society has embraced various environmentally conscious measures, aiming to make a positive impact on the environment. Here are some of the notable initiatives implemented by the society:

Solar Power: F Residences has installed solar panels with a capacity of 15 kW, generating an average of 2700 kWh (units) of energy per month. The society is currently working on upgrading the capacity to 180 kW, with the project expected to be completed by the end of July.

Rainwater Harvesting: Recognizing the importance of conserving water, F Residences has established a dedicated rainwater harvesting line that feeds four rainwater harvesting chambers located at each corner of the premises. This enables the collection and storage of rainwater for future use, reducing the dependency on external water sources.

Wet Waste Processing: F Residences has implemented an efficient system for processing 100% of its wet waste. Through segregation practices, the society utilizes an on-site Organic Waste Converter (OWC) machine and compost pits to convert wet waste into high-quality compost. This initiative yields approximately 500-600 kg of compost every quarter, contributing to sustainable waste management.

Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP): With a capacity of 200 KLD, the society’s sewerage treatment plant has recently undergone upgrades, automation, and stringent monitoring. These measures ensure that the plant consistently produces water of “Garden Level” quality, minimizing environmental pollution and promoting responsible wastewater management.

Water Treatment Plant (WTP): Due to limited water supply from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), F Residences relies on various sources, including borewells and tankers. However, to ensure good-quality water for domestic use, all water sources undergo treatment at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), reducing water hardness and enhancing water quality.

EV Charging Station: F Residences has taken a significant step towards promoting sustainable transportation by providing residents with access to a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) charging station. Currently, the charging services are offered free of cost, encouraging residents to adopt electric vehicles and contribute to reducing carbon emissions.

Energy-Saving Automation: Leveraging the power of technology, F Residences has embraced energy-saving automation through IoT-based smart devices. Motion sensors, timers, and photosensors are installed throughout the society, enabling efficient energy consumption, reducing human dependency, and optimizing energy usage.

Water-Monitoring Automation: F Residences has implemented sonar-based sensors to monitor water levels in tanks and automatically control transfer motors to prevent overflow and water wastage. This innovative solution not only helps in managing water resources effectively but also aids in identifying potential leakages and promoting water conservation.

These initiatives undertaken by F Residences exemplify the impact that individual efforts can have on environmental preservation. The society’s commitment to eco-friendly practices sets a commendable example for others to follow, fostering a sustainable and environmentally conscious community in Balewadi, Pune.
