Erandwane : A horrifying incident unfolded on Saturday afternoon in the Erandwane area of Pune as a speeding car careened onto the footpath, injuring three schoolgirls near Karnataka High School. Eyewitnesses described the accident as a nightmare, leaving one of the girls in critical condition.
The incident occurred when a car, driven by Varsha Marathe, was speeding from Nimbalkar’s Garden in Kothrud to Ganesh Nagar in Erandwane. Tragedy struck when Marathe lost control of her vehicle in front of the Revive Hair & Beauty Studio on Gulawani Maharaj Road, causing the car to veer onto the pavement. The impact threw two of the three girls from the footpath, with one trapped under the car’s wheels, resulting in severe injuries.
Promptly responding to the accident, concerned citizens at the scene rushed to aid the injured girls, who were subsequently admitted to a private hospital in Erandwane.
The Alankar Police Station officials have initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident and hold those responsible accountable.
