Engineers in Hot Water: Pune ACB Detains Daund Municipal Council Officials Over Rs 10,000 Bribe

Pune: The project consultant engineer and the PM Awas Yojana Pune engineer of Daund Municipal Council were arrested red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Pune while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. The ACB took action on Wednesday, October 18 at Daund Nagar Parishad office.

The accused has been identified as Vijay Digambar Nale (27) an engineer for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Prashant Madhukar Jagtap (31) a project consultant engineer. A 52-year-old person has lodged a complaint with Pune ACB.

Vijay Nale, an engineer of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, demanded a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from the complainant to provide him with the cheque of remaining amount under PM Awas Yojana. After the compromise the accused settled at Rs 30,000. The complainant lodged a complaint with Pune ACB regarding this.

When the received complaint was verified before the jury, it came to light that Vijay Nale demanded the bribe of Rs 50,000 and later compromised at Rs 30,000. Also, a bribe of Rs 10,000 has been accepted as an advance.
Also, project consultant engineer Prashant Madhukar Jagtap has confirmed the bribe demand of Nale and encouraged him to accept the bribe amount. Both of them have been detained by ACB and a case has been registered.

The action was initiated under the guidance of Pune area superintendent of police Amol Tambe and additional Superintendent of police Dr. Sheetal Janve and by police inspector Virnath Mane and the team of Police Constable Riyaz Sheikh, Suradkar, Mane and Chalak Jadhav.
