EMMTC – MSLTA Junior Tennis Nationals Witness Unforeseen Twist with Mundhe’s Victory

In a stunning display of skill and determination, Maharashtra’s very own Parthsarthi Mundhe, the seventh seed, secured her spot in the girls’ singles finals at the EMMTC – MSLTA organized Junior National Tennis Tournament for under 14. Under the auspices of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA), this prestigious event was held at the EMMTC Tennis complex in Aurangabad. In a thrilling match, Mundhe overcame the odds and upset the second-seeded Aahan from Odisha with a final score of 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.

Mundhe’s exceptional performance has made her the talk of the tournament, and she will now face off against the third-seeded Savitha Bhuwaneswran of Tamil Nadu in the girls’ singles finals. Savitha earned her spot in the finals by defeating the giant-killer Anandita Upadhyay from Haryana with a score of 7-5, 6-3. Additionally, Savitha is on track for a double crown as she also reached the girls’ doubles finals alongside her partner Srishti Kiran.

On the boys’ side of the event, top-seeded Hruthik Katakam of Telangana ended the impressive run of Shivtej Shirfule from Nanded by winning 6-3, 6-4. Katakam will face second-seeded Tavish Pahwa of Haryana in the boys’ singles finals. Tavish displayed remarkable resilience to rally past the fourth-seeded Prakash Sarran of Karnataka with a score of 7-6(8), 6-3. Just like Savitha, both Hruthik and Tavish have also reached the boys’ doubles finals, putting themselves in contention for a double crown.

The tournament has seen some outstanding tennis, and the finalists have undoubtedly earned their spots in the title matches. Semifinal Results:

  • Parthsarthi Mundhe (Mah)(7) bt Aahan (Odisha)(2) 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.

  • Hruthik Katakam (TS)/Tavish Pahwa (Har)(1) bt Mannan Agarwal (Mah)/Om Patel (Guj) 6-4, 6-2.
  • Fazal Ali Meer (TN)/Prakash Sarran (Kar)(2) bt Diganth M (Kar)/Ahan Shetty (Mah) 7-5, 6-3.

Girls:
