Electricity Cable Explosion in Kharadi: Mahavitaran Takes Action After Person Suffers Injuries

A disturbing incident occurred in Thite Vasti, Kharadi, as a person sustained injuries due to the explosion of an electricity cable belonging to Mahavitaran on January 26. The high voltage power cable, lying exposed near Sairaj Mitra Mandal, resulted in burn injuries to a passerby’s legs.

Confirming the incident, Nishikant Raut, PRO of Mahavitaran Pune, stated, “Yes, this incident had taken place in Kharadi on Friday. The relevant action has been taken by Mahavitaran.”

According to reports, the victim, who recently moved to a rented room in Thite Vasti with friends, was shopping near Sairaj Mitra Mandal when the exposed high voltage cable suddenly exploded. Trapped in the incident, the victim suffered burns on both legs and one side of the face. An onlooker promptly admitted the victim to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Residents in the area raised concerns about the exposed cable, emphasizing that despite their requests to Mahavitaran’s Kharadi office to bury the cable underground, no action was taken. Allegations of negligence on Mahavitaran’s part have intensified as the cable remained exposed for several days.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a Mahavitaran employee arrived at the scene and informed residents that senior officers have instructed the cable to be laid. Residents and those close to the victim express frustration over the perceived negligence, pointing to the cable’s exposed condition for days before the unfortunate incident.

As the victim’s condition worsened, he was advised to seek treatment at a larger hospital. Presently, he continues to receive medical care at a private hospital.

The incident has sparked discussions about the need for accountability and stricter safety measures in the handling of electrical infrastructure to prevent such accidents in the future.
