Eknath Shinde’s Directive: Swift Kunbi Maratha Certificate Issuance in Pune

Pune, November 6, 2023: In a bid to expedite the issuance of Kunbi Maratha caste certificates, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed District Collectors to take swift action based on recommendations from the Shinde Committee. This initiative, which initially began in Marathwada, is now expanding into a statewide mission. To streamline the process, dedicated cells are being established in every taluk across the district, commencing on Monday.

The move comes as more than twelve and a half thousand citizens who applied for Kunbi certificates within the past year are now receiving their certificates following thorough document verification. To further enhance efficiency and accommodate additional record submissions, a designated room is being set up on the ground floor of the Collector’s office, overseen by a nodal officer.

In an effort to make the process more accessible, cells will also be instituted in every tehsil office, eliminating the need for rural residents to visit collectorate offices. Naib Tehsildar and Tehsildar have been instructed to accept applications and process them efficiently.
