Dare Devils of the Corps of Signals Thrill Pune in Tribute to 1971 War Victory

Pune, 5th November 2023: Pune witnessed an exhilarating Motor Cycle Dare Devil Show at the Milkha Singh Sports Complex, Headquarters Southern Command, on 4th November 2023, commemorating India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 War, marking 52 years of this significant achievement.

The Motor Cycle Riders Display Team, famously known as the “Dare Devils” of the Corps of Signals, holds the distinction of being the Indian Army’s oldest performing Despatch Rider Display Team. Established in 1935, the team has been nurtured by Headquarters 1 Signal Training Centre in Jabalpur and has continually added to its illustrious history. Over the years, the Dare Devils have achieved numerous remarkable feats, securing 29 World Records that have been officially recognized by GUINNESS, LIMCA Book of World Records, ASIA, and INDIA Book of Records.

Subedar Pratap Singh led the Motor Cycle Riders Display Team, “DARE DEVILS,” comprising 28 other skilled Dare Devils. These volunteers, who are not only proficient dispatch riders but also possess exceptional self-determination, unmatched courage, and precision in handling motorcycles, paid a fitting tribute to the heroes of the 1971 War. They delivered a breathtaking performance, featuring 38 scintillating and unmatched human formations on their bikes.

The event garnered a crowd of over 3000 attendees, including military dignitaries, veterans, soldiers, families, and children from the Pune Military Station. Lt Gen Manjit Kumar, Chief of Staff, Southern Command, and Colonel Commandant Corps of Signals, lauded the Dare Devils for their remarkable performance on this special occasion.
