Cushion Chronicles: IndiGo’s Unexpected Challenge on Pune-Nagpur Route

In a bizarre turn of events, Nagpur resident Sagarika Patnaik encountered an unusual challenge during her IndiGo flight from Pune to Nagpur (6E-6798) on a business trip. Shockingly, upon reaching her assigned window seat, she discovered half of her seat cushion was missing, prompting concern and inconvenience for both the passenger and the airline.

Sagarika’s husband, Subrat Patnaik, shared the incident where his wife approached cabin crew members with her concern, only to be directed to check beneath the seat. Despite her efforts, the missing cushion remained untraceable, leading to a second report to the crew and causing inconvenience to fellow passengers. Eventually, a crew member provided a spare cushion as a replacement.

While sources revealed that the initial cushion was removed due to cleanliness concerns, this unexpected incident raises questions about IndiGo’s pre-flight checks and crew awareness. IndiGo responded to Subrat’s inquiry, acknowledging that seat cushions may sometimes detach and reassuring passengers that such issues are typically addressed with the assistance of the crew. The airline also committed to reviewing the incident and improving services in the future.

Subrat pointed out the thorough cleaning checks conducted before take-off, questioning why the missing cushion went unnoticed during the pre-boarding process. This incident serves as a reminder that even reputable airlines may encounter unexpected challenges, emphasizing the importance of constant vigilance and improvement in passenger services.
