Cracking the Case: Pune Police’s Swift Response to Wine Shop Heist

In a swift response to a daring robbery, the Pune City Police have successfully apprehended five individuals responsible for the recent heist at RR Wines Shop in Shivane Uttamnagar. The incident, which occurred on the night of November 19, 2023, saw the thieves making away with Rs 3.09 lakh in cash and liquor valued at Rs 3,300.

The Investigation Unfolds: A Precision Crime Demands Precision Action

Prompted by a complaint filed by Manoj More, an employee at RR Wines, the Uttam Nagar police wasted no time initiating a thorough investigation. Recognizing the meticulous nature of the robbery, law enforcement suspected the involvement of individuals with prior criminal records. Two specialized teams were formed to track down the suspects.

Collaborative Efforts Lead to Capture

On November 21, 2023, a collaborative effort between Uttam Nagar Police Station and Sinhagad Road Police Station resulted in the detention of five individuals hailing from Dhayari, Manikbagh, and Sinhagad Road areas. The suspects were apprehended with country-made pistols, a sword, and the stolen cash totaling Rs 3.9 lakh. Additionally, Rs 32,800 in cash was seized during the operation.

Minors Involved: Swift Judicial Action Ensues

Further investigation brought to light that four out of the five arrested individuals were minors. Presented before the Juvenile Court, their legal proceedings commenced. Simultaneously, Tejas Rahul Pimpalgaonkar, aged 19, from Sinhagad Road, Pune, was produced before the First Class Magistrate Court No. 03 Pune and remanded to police custody until November 25.

This successful operation was executed under the strategic guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Suhail Sharma, ACP (Kothrud Division) Bhimrao Tele, and Senior Police Inspector Kiran Balwadkar. The commendable efforts of the team, including Sub-Inspector Dadaraje Pawar, Sub-Inspector Umesh Rokade, and Police Constables Sameer Pawar, Tushar Kindre, Dnyaneshwar Todkar, Dattatraya Malusare, and Pramod Kumadkar, played a pivotal role in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
