Commuter Alert: Oil and Milk Spill on IMD Office-University Route in Pune After Milk Tanker Accident

Pune commuters using the IMD Office-University road route are urged to exercise caution due to a recent accident involving a milk tanker. The incident has resulted in a spill of milk and oil on the road, posing potential risks to riders and drivers. The Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Fire Brigade Department has issued an appeal for vigilance while traveling on this route to ensure the safety of all road users.

Oil and Milk Spill on the Route: The PMC’s Fire Brigade Department has alerted commuters about the presence of spilled oil and milk on the IMD Office-University road route. This hazardous situation arose as a result of an accident that occurred earlier in the day. The spillage poses a significant danger to both two-wheeler and four-wheeler riders due to the reduced traction caused by the slippery surface.

Emergency Response: A prompt response was initiated by a team of fire brigade officials from the Pune Municipal Corporation. The tanker, carrying a load of milk, was involved in a collision with a divider on a flyover near Rahul Talkis in the Shivajinagar area. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver of the milk tanker lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid an obstacle on the road, resulting in the collision with the divider.

Injury and Impact: The driver of the milk tanker sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The impact of the collision caused the milk and oil carried by the tanker to spill onto the road, creating a hazardous situation for subsequent commuters. The spillage not only poses a risk of skidding but also obstructs the smooth flow of traffic on the IMD Office-University route.

Commuter Precautions: Given the potential dangers posed by the oil and milk spill on the road, commuters are strongly advised to exercise caution and adhere to safety measures while using the IMD Office-University road route. Reduced speeds, increased following distances, and heightened awareness of the road conditions are paramount during such situations. By taking these precautions, commuters can contribute to preventing further accidents and ensuring road safety.
