Pune, August 22nd, 2023: In its continuous effort to enhance passenger comfort and experience, the Pune Divisional administration, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Indu Dubey, has introduced a new amenity at the Pune railway station.
Acknowledging the diverse needs of its travelers, the Pune Divisional administration has taken a significant step by introducing a dedicated infant breastfeeding room. This room is conveniently located in the ladies waiting room on platform number one of the Pune station. Equipped with essential amenities such as chairs, tables, fans, and lights, this room has been thoughtfully designed to provide a safe and comfortable space for mothers to feed their babies.
One of the notable features of this newly established room is its secure design. It can be closed from both inside and outside, ensuring the safety and privacy of mothers and their infants. This measure has been taken to create an environment where women passengers can breastfeed their children without any concerns.
This thoughtful addition has been made possible through collaboration with the NGO “Child Help Foundation.” The partnership aims to create a space where female passengers waiting for their trains can have a safe and comfortable place to nurture and care for their infants.
Under the visionary leadership of Divisional Railway Manager Smt. Indu Dubey, supported by Additional Divisional Railway Manager Shri Brijesh Kumar Singh and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Milind Hirve, along with the coordination of Pune Station Director Shri Madanlal Meena, the railway administration is at the forefront of initiatives that prioritize passengers’ needs and comfort. This endeavor reflects the commitment of the Pune Divisional administration to provide essential amenities and a secure environment for all passengers, enhancing their overall railway journey experience.
