Chill in the Air: Pune Prepares for a Cool Countdown to 2024

As Pune residents bid farewell to 2023 and usher in the New Year, they are gearing up for a chilly start to 2024. Recent weather trends, as analyzed by Dr. Vineet Kumar Singh, a research scientist at Jeju National University in South Korea, suggest a notable drop in minimum temperatures on the horizon.

The past week in Pune witnessed a dip in minimum temperatures, followed by a gradual rise and predominantly clear skies. However, as the city approaches the New Year, the weather forecast points to cloudy skies and a decline in minimum temperatures.

Dr. Singh predicts minimum temperatures ranging from 13 to 15 degrees Celsius on December 29, 30, and 31. The chill is expected to persist into the New Year, with temperatures around 12 to 14 degrees Celsius on January 1, 14 to 16 degrees Celsius on January 2, and 12 to 14 degrees Celsius on January 3.

What’s the upcoming minimum temperature forecast?

  • December 29-31: 13-15°C
  • January 1: 12-14°C
  • January 2: 14-16°C
  • January 3: 12-14°C

As Pune residents prepare for New Year’s celebrations, the prospect of cooler temperatures adds a touch of winter charm to the festivities. It’s advisable to bundle up and embrace the crisp Pune air as the city welcomes the dawn of 2024.
