Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Legacy Illuminates Junnar: Hindavi Swarajya Mahotsav 2024 Unveils Maharashtra’s Rich Heritage

Junnar, Maharashtra – As Maharashtra commemorates the 394th Birth Anniversary of the revered Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the town of Junnar emerges as the epicenter of cultural reverence and historical celebration. The Hindavi Swarajya Mahotsav 2024, organized by the Maharashtra State Tourism Department and Pune District Administration, commenced today to immerse attendees in the rich tapestry of Maharashtra’s heritage and ethos. The three-day extravaganza will continue till February 19, 2024.

On the inaugural day of the Hindavi Swarajya Mahotsav 2024, the festivities kicked off with a captivating Mahadurg Fort Walk, inaugurated by Vinayak Khot. This walk led eager participants through the historic pathways of Shivneri Fort in Junnar town. Following this, the atmosphere brimmed with excitement as various attractions were unveiled one after another.

The Adventure Zone, inaugurated by Dhaneshsheth Sancheti of Junnar Education Society, promised adrenaline-fueled experiences for adventure enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the Heritage Walk at Junnar Fort and the Art District at Bhutte Patil were introduced, highlighting the rich cultural tapestry of the region.

Additionally, the Tent City was inaugurated by B.N. Patil, Director – Tourism, along with Swapnil Kapadnis, Joint Director – Tourism, Prashant Kaduskar – Executive Engineer, and Ganesh Sinalkar – Section Engineer, providing a perfect retreat for those seeking leisure by the water. Music filled the air as the Concert Area at Bhutte Patil Ground welcomed visitors, featuring a mesmerizing performance inaugurated by B.N. Patil, Director – Tourism.

Furthermore, the Para-motoring zone was inaugurated by Shri. Satyasheel Dada Sherkar, Director – Vignahar Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana. Food enthusiasts rejoiced with the inauguration of the Food District at Bhutte Patil, offering a tantalizing array of culinary delights. The inauguration of Mahila Bachat Gat Stalls (SHG Stalls – Arts & Crafts) was conducted by Asha Tai Buchake, and the Grape Festival was inaugurated by Anil Tatya Meher.

As night fell, the day culminated in a serene session of Star Gazing at the Camp Site, offering a moment of tranquility under the vast expanse of the night sky.

On February 19th, the festivities will continue with more exciting events. From 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the Shiv Janmotsav celebration at Fort Shivneri will mark the beginning of the day, honoring the birth of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Adventure Zone at the Zipline Arena will open at 9:00 AM, offering more thrilling activities for adventure seekers. Participants can once again choose between a Heritage Walk at Junnar Fort or a Farm Visit at the Tent City, starting at 9:00 AM. Aero Sport activities at the Adventure Zone will resume at 10:00 AM, while workshops at the Art District will continue to inspire creativity at Bhutte Patil Ground. At noon, the Food Festival at Bhutte Patil Ground will provide a delightful culinary experience for all attendees. In the afternoon, Water Sports at the Tent City will offer refreshing aquatic adventures starting at 4:30 PM. The evening will be filled with spiritual fervor as the Maha Shiv Aarti takes place at Bhutte Patil Ground at 6:15 PM, followed by the captivating “Vaari- Sohala Santaancha” dance performance at 7:00 PM.

The grand finale of the day will be the presentation of “Shivshambhu Shaurya Gatha” by Shiv Sahyadri, a spectacular theatrical performance portraying the valor of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, starting at 8:00 PM at Bhutte Patil Ground.
