Celebrating Excellence: Raj Thackeray to Recognize Maharashtra’s Finest Journalists

Twelve esteemed senior journalists hailing from various regions of Maharashtra are set to be honored for their significant contributions to society. The recognition will be conferred upon them by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief, Raj Thackeray, during an event scheduled for August 19 in Pune.

Nitin Patil, the Editor-In-Chief of “PUNE NEWS,” shared insights about this accolade. He revealed that he, along with 11 other distinguished journalists, has been chosen as the recipients of these prestigious awards. These awards are bestowed by the “Pimpri-Chinchwad Editors Guild forum,” an organization dedicated to advocating for journalists’ welfare across the nation.

The list of journalists who will be felicitated by MNS Chief Raj Thackeray includes Nitin Patil (Editor-In-Chief of Policenama), Parag Karandikar (Editor of ‘Maharashtra Times’), Kamlesh Sutar (Editor of ‘Lokshahi Marathi’), Rahul Kulkarni (ABP Mazha), senior journalist Advait Mehta, Govind Wakade (News 18), Anil Mashke (Daily Punya Nagari), Sandeep Mahajan (Lokmat Yavatmal), Avinash Khandare, senior journalist Ashwini Satav-Doke, Ashish Deshmukh, and Mahesh Tiwari.

In conjunction with this recognition, a seminar comprising three distinct sessions has been meticulously organized. In the first session, a compelling discussion will revolve around the topic “Me and the Fight for Journalist Rights.” Esteemed figures such as Samrat Phadnis (Editor of daily Sakal), Sanjay Awte (Editor of Daily Lokmat), Sunil Mali (Editor of Pudhari), Avinash Thorat (Editor of Civic Mirror), journalist Sandeep Mahajan, and Mahesh Tiwari of News 18 Lokmat (Gadchiroli) are expected to participate in this session.

Patil emphasized the significance of the event, highlighting that a substantial gathering of individuals, including Members of Parliament, will be in attendance to mark the occasion.

The third session of the seminar will delve into the theme of ‘Anti-Journalist Attack Law, Reality, and Need.’ Distinguished participants such as Parag Karandikar, Kamlesh Sutar, Mandar Phanse, Ashish Dixit, Vinod Raut, and Rahul Kulkarni are anticipated to contribute to this informative session, as stated by Patil.
