Bridging Adventure: PMRDA’s Mega Plan Unveiled for Tiger’s and Lion’s Points in Lonavala

In a significant move to boost tourism and enhance recreational offerings, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has received approval from the state government for its ambitious Rs 333.56 crore development plan for Tiger’s Point and Lion’s Point in Lonavala.

Deputy Collector Ramdas Jagtap shared key insights into the project, emphasizing that PMRDA will spearhead the development. The project, sprawling across 15 hectares, will receive funding from the tourism department for innovative ventures. A major highlight includes a 6-meter-wide and 90-meter-long bridge connecting both iconic points, creating seamless accessibility.

A breathtaking addition to the landscape is the proposed 125-meter-long and 6-meter-wide glass skywalk, offering visitors an unparalleled view of the scenic surroundings. Adventure enthusiasts can look forward to an array of activities such as zip-lining and bungee jumping. The development also includes a food park, a well-equipped parking lot, and an amphitheater capable of accommodating a thousand spectators. Essential amenities for tourists will be seamlessly integrated, ensuring a comfortable and memorable experience.

The state government’s approval on December 13 signifies a commitment of Rs 333.56 crores to transform Tiger’s Point and Lion’s Point into vibrant tourist destinations. These spots, located near Kurwande village in the taluka near Maval, Lonavala, are set to become hubs for adventure sports, light shows, and other engaging activities.

The timeline for the project’s completion is targeted within three years, reflecting a concerted effort to expedite the development of these iconic locations. As the infrastructure takes shape, Lonavala is poised to emerge as a sought-after tourist destination, offering a blend of natural beauty and adrenaline-pumping experiences
