Robbery Shakes Pune’s Boat Club Road: Cash and Ornaments Stolen from Parked Car
Pune, August 22, 2023: An audacious robbery occurred on the evening of August 19, leaving a 54-year-old medical professional, Dr. Raman Reddy, and his family in shock and dismay. The incident took place between 8:30 pm and 10:50 pm near Boat Club Road in Pune, as unidentified culprits smashed the window of a parked car and made away with cash and valuable ornaments.
Dr. Reddy, accompanied by his family, had come to Pune for a visit. While enjoying an evening meal with friends, he parked his vehicle near RiverSide Villas on Boat Club Road. Unfortunately, upon his return, he discovered that his vehicle had fallen victim to a brazen robbery.
The criminals had shattered the right rear window of the car to gain access. They seized a purse containing precious gold ornaments, ₹8,000 in cash, and important documents before vanishing without a trace. The total worth of the stolen items, including the cash and ornaments, is estimated to be around ₹49,000.
Local law enforcement swiftly responded to the incident, launching an investigation and examining CCTV camera footage from the vicinity to identify the culprits. With the aid of modern surveillance technology, authorities are optimistic about swiftly tracking down the robbers and bringing them to justice.
The case has been officially registered at the Koregaon Park police station, with charges falling under Section 379 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code. Authorities are committed to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
