Bombay Engineers Group Khadki Marks Centenary with Spectacular Reunion Parade

In a grand celebration of history and camaraderie, the Bombay Engineers Group (BEG) at Khadki commemorated its Centenary with a spectacular reunion parade. The event, held at the Bombay Sappers Alma Mater, featured synchronized marching beats and a salute to the legacy of The Bombay Sappers War Memorial.

The commemoration parade, organized as a once-in-four-years event, was reviewed by Gen Manoj Pande, Chief of the Army Staff, and Colonel Commandant of the Bombay Sappers. The pride of serving and retired personnel, along with their families, was evident as they gathered to witness the splendid ceremony.

Illustrious guests, including Mrs Rajeshwari Rane, wife of the legendary Late Maj RR Rane, PVC, Lt Gen DP Pandey, Colonel of The Sikh Light Infantry Regiment, and Ashali Verma, daughter of Late Lt Gen PS Bhagat, added grace to the occasion. Lt Gen Ajai Kumar Singh, Army Commander Southern Command, and Lt Gen Arvind Walia, Engineer in Chief, were honored with a salute by the parade, expertly commanded by Colonel Vishal Pathak of BEG.

The commemoration parade comprised five contingents from BEG and Centre, featuring representatives from Sikh Light Infantry Regiment and Maratha Light Infantry Regiment. A highlight of the day was a magnificent flypast by the Army Adventure Node Microlight Team, recently known for completing the ‘Bombay Sappers Kashmir to Kanyakumari Expedition.’

During his address to the sappers of BEG Group, Gen Manoj Pande commended everyone for their outstanding performances and urged them to continue delivering exceptional results. The BEG Reunion 2024, held in conjunction with the Centenary celebrations, served as a platform for both serving and retired Bombay Sappers to strengthen bonds of camaraderie and recommit to the ethos of remaining forever ready and serving selflessly.
