In a recent development, the Pune City President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dheeraj Ghate, has raised concerns over journalist Nikhil Wagle’s upcoming program, ‘Nirbhay Bano.’ Accusing Wagle of making controversial statements to gain popularity, the BJP has written to the Parvati Police Station, urging them to deny permission for the event.
According to the letter addressed to the Parvati Police Station, the BJP alleges that some individuals, including Wagle, have been consistently making insulting statements about the country’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Furthermore, they claim that such individuals pollute the societal atmosphere by equating the awarding of the ‘Bharat Ratna’ to the Former Deputy Prime Minister, Lal Krishna Advani, with one rioter praising another.
The letter continues to express the BJP’s viewpoint, stating that in the past decade, the country has witnessed rapid development under the leadership of Narendra Modi, and his name is being praised globally. However, the party contends that some individuals cannot accept this progress and deliberately defame constitutional leaders through programs like ‘Nirbhay Bano.’
Highlighting the alleged disrespect shown towards the Bharat Ratna awarded to Advani, the letter accuses selected individuals of stooping to a low level and insulting the highest honor of the country, along with insulting both Modi and Advani.
The BJP claims that the organizers of the ‘Nirbhay Bano’ program aim to create division in society, and the party, known for opposing divisive tendencies, demands the event’s cancellation through this letter.
