In a remarkable display of endurance and determination, Lt Col Swaroop Singh Kuntal emerged victorious at the Khadakwasla Ultramarathon, conquering the challenging 75-kilometer route around the picturesque Khadakwasla Lake in just 6 hours and 59 minutes.
Lt Col Kuntal, a multifaceted athlete known for his prowess as a Paratrooper, IITian, Ironman, Ultraman, and Triathlete, expressed his pride in this latest achievement. The event, organized by Bavdhan Brigade Runners, Pune, witnessed the participation of 125 athletes who braved the demanding course characterized by elevations, temperature fluctuations, and the stunning backdrop of Khadakwasla Lake.
Reflecting on the race, Lt Col Kuntal shared, “The Khadakwasla Ultramarathon was a test of both physical and mental strength. The ups and downs along the Khadakwasla Lake Parikrama made it a challenging yet rewarding experience. I am immensely proud to have crossed the finish line and secured the top position.”
This triumph adds to Lt Col Kuntal’s impressive list of victories, which includes being the fastest Indian in Ironman Malaysia 2019 and clinching the title at Ultraman India in October 2022, involving a grueling combination of 10 km swimming, 420 km cycling, and 84.4 km running at Pong Dam in Himachal Pradesh.
