Balewadi Welfare Federation Honors Local Heroes with BWF Citizens Award 2024

In a heartwarming celebration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, the Balewadi Welfare Federation (BWF) recently hosted a memorable evening dedicated to recognizing and inspiring the community. The highlight of the event was the presentation of the BWF Citizens Award 2024, shining a spotlight on individuals who have made remarkable contributions to society. Themed “Shakti and Bhakti,” the evening featured an enlightening lecture by Uday Maharaj Ghodke.

The second edition of the awards honored four outstanding individuals from the Balewadi community: Shamsundar Kulkarni, respected journalist Sheetal Berge, community activist Prashant Sardesai, and environmentalist Ashwini Mudaye. Each awardee was commended for their unique initiatives spanning education, public awareness, civic engagement, and environmental conservation.

Balewadi Welfare Federation President Ramesh Rokde, along with Vice President Parashuram Tare, Ashok Nawal, Advocate S O Mashalkar, and Uday Maharaj Ghodke, took the stage to present the awards. Amey Jagtap, the Coordinator of the BWF Citizen Awards and Director of the Federation, affirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting the ongoing efforts of the awardees.

Moreshwar Balwadkar provided a comprehensive overview of the Federation’s initiatives, emphasizing a future filled with collaborative endeavors. Asmita Karandikar skillfully moderated the proceedings, while Yash Chaudhary delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing collective appreciation for the tireless dedication of the awardees.

The event witnessed a diverse audience, including notable figures such as DD Singh, Vikas Kamat, Jeevan Chakankar, Pandurang Bhujbal, Dattaji Barge, Shakeel Salati, Sachin Patil, Rajeev Shah, Dr. Sudhir Nikhare, Shubhangi Ingwale, Sukumar Iyer, representatives from various societies, members of the Pune Mahila Mandal, and seniors from Navchaitanya Senior Citizens. The presence of Balewadi community members, Vasundhara Abhiyaan Baner members, and concerned citizens highlighted the collective spirit of camaraderie and support.

Beyond celebrating individual achievements, the BWF Citizens Award 2024 ceremony served as a rallying call for continued collaboration and community-driven endeavors aimed at fostering positive change.
