Dhirendra Shastri, popularly known as ‘Bagheshwar Dham Sarkar,’ is set to hold a three-day “divine durbar” starting Monday, November 20. The event, which will include the Hanuman Katha and “Divya Durbar,” is being organized by BJP’s Jagdish and Yogesh Mulik at Sangamwadi’s Nikam Farm. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil are expected to be the chief guests at this spiritual gathering.
The poster shared by Mulik on social media has created a buzz about the upcoming event, attracting attention not only for its religious significance but also for the notable political figures attending. Dhirendra Shastri, a 26-year-old head priest of Bageshwar Dham in Madhya Pradesh, gained fame through televised “divya durbars” that showcased his purported abilities to perform miracles, such as exorcising spirits, diagnosing illnesses without medical tests, and reading minds.
Recently, Shastri orchestrated a Ram Katha in Ayodhya Nagari from November 6 to 8, held in Chatrapati Sambhajinagar. During this event, he also advocated for Maratha reservation, stating that Marathas have significantly contributed to the country’s freedom struggle and should be granted the necessary reservations.
Baba Vs Shaym Manav:
In January, rationalist Shyam Manav from Maharashtra challenged Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, also known as Bageshwar Baba, regarding his claimed divine powers. Shastri, who had gained fame for his televised miracles, faced a challenge from Manav, who offered a substantial reward of 30 lakhs if Baba could substantiate his abilities. However, just two days before the scheduled event in Nagpur, Shastri withdrew from the challenge, prompting Shyam Manav and his team to file a police complaint against Bageshwar Baba under Maharashtra’s Anti-superstition and Black Magic Act.
Despite the controversy, Dhirendra Shastri continues to attract significant crowds at his gatherings, where he claims to perform extraordinary feats. The recent announcement of the “divine durbar” has added a new dimension to his public appearances, with prominent political figures set to grace the event.
