Pune, 1st July 2023: The Azad Hind Express, a train notorious for its frequent delays, arrived at the Pune railway station more than 24 hours behind its scheduled arrival time on Thursday, causing significant inconvenience to passengers. The authorities have attributed the ongoing railway work as the primary reason for the delay, but passengers argue that this has become a recurring issue with this particular train.
The Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Express was supposed to depart from Howrah for Pune at 10:10 pm on June 26. However, it was delayed by over 20 hours and finally departed at 7 pm on June 27. This subsequent delay in departure further impacted the train’s schedule, which was expected to reach the Pune Railway Station at 7:20 am on June 28. Unfortunately, it arrived at 7:32 am on June 29, exacerbating the inconvenience faced by passengers.
Railway officials have stated that the ongoing work in the Bilaspur division of the railways is the primary cause behind the delay in the Azad Hind Express. However, a review of previous records reveals that this train has been consistently running behind schedule in recent months, raising concerns among passengers about the reliability of its timeliness.
Passengers who rely on the Azad Hind Express for their travels have expressed frustration and disappointment over the repeated delays. They argue that such delays not only disrupt their schedules but also cause inconvenience in making connecting journeys or attending important engagements.
