Pune : In a celebration of creativity and accessibility, Art Mandai 2024, a distinctive art exhibition, is set to take place on Republic Day, January 26, 2024, at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai in Pune.
Gauri Gandhi, a committee member of Art Mandai, shared insights, “We began the first exhibition in 2016 with the main aim of connecting with the public. Traditional gallery spaces often limit art access, so we chose the most central open space in Pune – Mandai. We believe art is for everybody, and by bringing down the prices of our art pieces, we ensure that everyone can buy and appreciate them. Art Mandai has flourished over the years, connecting people, fostering art enjoyment, and making art more accessible.”
Art Mandai has pioneered the concept of exhibiting and selling authentic and affordable art alongside vegetable and fruit vendors, breaking the traditional gallery mold. All art pieces are priced at Rs 2,500 or under, with a portion of the proceeds contributing to a social cause.
The theme for Art Mandai 2024 is “Metamorphosis: Exploring Transformation,” sparking a dialogue on the continuous evolution of the world. The exhibition invites viewers to contemplate the multifaceted nature of transformation, encompassing form, structure, thought, action, and identity.
