These endeavors are driven by the goal of improving the passenger experience, modernizing, and developing these crucial railway stations.

Within the framework of the Amrit Bharat Railway Scheme, the Pune Division is currently revitalizing 16 stations. Each station’s development strategy is carefully crafted, taking into account the daily foot traffic of passengers and the existing station layout. A key focus is on creating passenger-centric amenities, encompassing both the station’s exterior and interior.

At Chinchwad station, significant progress has been made, with platform covering work in full swing. Foundation work is also underway for the construction of essential restroom facilities. Dehuroad station is likewise witnessing rapid development, particularly in the area of platform covering.

The redevelopment of Uruli station is making remarkable strides, with excavation and foundation work already completed. Efforts are also directed towards constructing restrooms, improving the station area, introducing a new entrance, and establishing a parking lot. Notably, platform coverings will be added to enhance passenger comfort.

Furthermore, the transformation of Kolhapur station is gaining momentum, with a substantial Rs 43 crore allocation for comprehensive redevelopment. This project has witnessed the demolition of old structures, paving the way for two new entrances, two lifts, two escalators, and platform coverings. A dedicated waiting room for passengers is also part of the visionary plan.

These initiatives underscore the Central Railway’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the travel experience of passengers. The projects are geared toward making railway travel more efficient, convenient, and comfortable, with passenger needs taking center stage in the ongoing developments.
