Amitesh Kumar Unveils Bold Strategy: Declares ‘Surgical Strike’ Against Illegal Businesses in Pune

In a strategic move to combat crime and eliminate illegal businesses, Pune’s newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Amitesh Kumar, has announced a comprehensive ‘surgical strike’ against those engaged in unlawful activities. The directive emphasizes a zero-tolerance approach to illegal businesses and criminal elements in the city.

Amitesh Kumar assumed the role of Pune City Police Commissioner on February 1, immediately initiating discussions with senior officials to outline the city’s law enforcement priorities. Following a meeting with senior inspectors from all police stations on February 2, Commissioner Kumar emphasized the need to bring crime under control, particularly targeting murder, attempted murder, and other serious offenses.

The upcoming campaign against seasoned criminals will feature increased police patrolling across the city, focusing on proper planning and preventive measures. The Commissioner outlined strict actions against criminal gangs involved in assaults, robberies, and armed attacks on citizens.

Furthermore, a decisive crackdown on illegal businesses has been mandated, with police inspectors receiving explicit orders to eradicate such operations completely. Commissioner Amitesh Kumar affirms that the persistence of illegal businesses will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

A comprehensive review of the city’s crime scenario and law enforcement strategies was conducted in meetings with senior police officers and inspectors. Subsequent discussions with the crime branch and traffic department officers will further refine the approach, ensuring a multifaceted strategy to address crime and enhance public safety in Pune.
