Discord Over Trivial Matter Escalates Into Violence at Savitribai Phule Pune University
A minor dispute between two students at the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) Skill Development Centre spiraled into a violent altercation on Monday evening. The confrontation, sparked by a contentious WhatsApp message, resulted in one student sustaining injuries and being hospitalized at Aundh Hospital. Despite the severity of the incident, no formal complaint has been filed with the authorities as of yet.
The skirmish unfolded near the food mall within the Skill Development Centre premises, drawing attention to the concerning escalation of conflicts within academic institutions. Atul Kulkarni, senior inspector of Chatuhshrungi Police Station, shed light on the situation, stating, “The two involved parties are students enrolled at SPPU Skill Development Centre, and the altercation arose from a seemingly trivial disagreement.”
