Sunetra Pawar, widely speculated to be a potential candidate for the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency under the banner of Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), accompanied her husband to several public functions throughout the day. Despite mounting anticipation, Ajit Pawar refrained from disclosing any definitive plans regarding Sunetra’s political aspirations.
The day commenced with Ajit Pawar’s visit to recently completed local projects in Baramati, followed by the couple’s participation in a ceremony where electric vehicles were distributed to individuals with disabilities. Subsequently, Ajit Pawar proceeded to attend events at the local sugar factory and the Jejuri trust program, underscoring his active involvement in community affairs amidst the election season.
In recent weeks, Sunetra Pawar has been extensively touring the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, engaging with constituents and senior party leaders in preparation for potential electoral responsibilities. However, no formal declaration regarding her candidacy has been forthcoming from the NCP or the Pawar family.
In a contrasting development, Bharatiya Janata Party’s spokesperson Sandeep Khardekar made headlines by proclaiming Mahayuti’s determination to challenge Supriya Sule in the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, expressing confidence in Sunetra Pawar’s electoral prospects. This assertion sets the stage for an intriguing electoral contest in the region, with political dynamics evolving amidst fervent campaigning.
