AirAsia’s Pune-Kolkata Flight: Passengers Left Waiting Due to Unannounced Delay

AirAsia’s Pune-Kolkata flight turned into an ordeal for over 100 passengers on Friday, leaving them stranded at Pune Airport due to an unexpected five-hour delay. The flight, originally scheduled to depart from Pune at 4:35 pm, took off much later at around 9 pm, reaching Kolkata at an inconvenient 1:30 am on Saturday. Passengers were caught off guard by the delay, resulting in a frustrating experience for many.

Unpleasant Surprise for Passengers

Several passengers expressed their disappointment, revealing that they had not received any prior notification about the delay. Consequently, they arrived at the airport early to make their flight, only to find themselves waiting for hours. One traveler shared, “I had reached Pune Airport around 2 pm, unaware that the flight had been delayed. I finally reached my home in Kolkata at 2:30 am.”

Lack of Communication

Many passengers voiced their concerns about the lack of communication from the airline regarding the delay. One traveler lamented, “I didn’t receive any message at all and came to the airport at 2 pm. I completed the check-in formalities and security checks. It was only later that I came to know about the delay. It was frustrating to wait for so long.”

Airline Response

An email seeking clarification about the delay sent to the airline did not yield a response as of the time of reporting. In response to a passenger’s complaint on social media, the airline attributed the delay to “operational reasons.”

AirAsia’s Pune-Kolkata flight delay serves as a reminder of the importance of timely communication with passengers to ensure a smoother travel experience.
