Pune, October 30, 2023: A groundbreaking collaboration has taken shape as MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the shared objective of enriching accounting and finance education across the nation. This partnership represents a significant milestone at the intersection of academia and the accounting profession.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was officially formalized during the “R.I.D.E” conclave, a five-day event focused on Research, Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship, hosted at MIT World Peace University’s Kothrud Campus. The event featured eminent figures such as Shri Rahul V Karad, Executive President of MITWPU, Dr. R. M. Chitnis, Vice Chancellor of MIT-WPU in Pune, CA. Chandrashekhar V Chitale, a Central Council Member of The ICAI, and CA. Rajesh Agrawal, Chairman of the Pune Branch of WIRC of ICAI, alongside other distinguished guests.
Dr. R.M. Chitnis, Vice Chancellor of MIT-WPU, expressed, “The MOU encourages cooperation and interaction between respective staff, including inter-institutional visits, faculty exchange, academic publications, research and educational collaboration, and Faculty Development Programmes (FDP) in the areas of common interest among many other things.”
CA. Rajesh Agrawal, Chairman of the Pune Branch of WIRC of ICAI, stated, “This MOU aligns perfectly with the event’s theme of Research & Innovation, which serves as the foundation of any successful journey. Undoubtedly, this MOU will greatly benefit commerce students on a large scale.”

C V Chitale, Central Council Member of The ICAI, lauded the initiative by saying, “Today, ICAI and MIT-WPU are uniting in support of students, knowledge, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The Chartered Accountancy course extends its benefits not only to commerce students but also to students from various streams. Prominent corporations such as L&T, Unilever, Birla Group, and many others prefer Chartered Accountants in top positions, making this qualification highly employable. ICAI has introduced the largest Digital Learning Hub, which is accessible free of charge. I extend a warm welcome to all students to take advantage of this valuable resource. This MOU will undoubtedly inscribe a new chapter in the histories of both ICAI and MITWPU.”
