Pune: A 19-year-old girl from Bangladesh who became friends with an Indian man was called to India for skin treatment, but was forced into prostitution. The Pune crime branch social security cell on Wednesday raided a brothel and rescued a 19-year-old girl from Bangladesh and registered a case against three persons including a woman.
The Social Security Cell lady constable Reshma Ganpat Kank has registered a case at Faraskhana police station. Accordingly case has been registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 370, 34 and PITA Act against the brothel owner Lakhi alias Sweety Akbar Sheikh (34) a resident of Ravivar Peth, Pune, agent Mrna alias Seema and owner of the residential premises Munna Shiakh. Sweety Shaikh was arrested by the police on Monday at around 8pm.
According to the police, ” The accused agent and victim girl became friends on Facebook. The accused called the victim to Pune for skin treatment. She also gave her a flight ticket. When the girl came from Bangladesh for the treatment the accused forced her into prostitution. The social security cell of Pune crime branch raided the brothel and rescued the girl.”
Further investigation is being done by the Faraskhana police station.”
