Pune: In anticipation of Manoj Jarange Patil’s Maratha reservation march scheduled to commence from Ranjangaon on Tuesday, the Pune Traffic Branch has announced traffic diversions to mitigate potential congestion on the designated route.
The march is set to commence on Tuesday, January 23, departing from Ranjangaon via Nagar Road, passing through Koregaon Bhima, and halting at Chokhidani, Kharadi. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pune Traffic Branch, Shashikant Borate, has urged commuters to use alternative routes to avoid disruptions.
Tuesday’s Traffic Diversions:
Vehicles travelling from Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Kolhapur, and Satara to Ahmednagar are advised to take the Katraj-Khadi Machine Chowk-Mantarwadi Phata-Hadapsar route via Solapur Road through Kedgaon-Chaufula-Navare-Shirur.
Vehicles heading to Ahmednagar via Wagholi and Lonikand should follow the diversion from Theur Phata (Solapur Road) through Kedgaon-Chaufula-Navare via Shirur.
For vehicles going from Pune city to Ahmednagar, the recommended route is a right turn at Kharadi Bypass at Magarpatta Chowk, followed by a left turn at Solapur Road through Yawat-Kedgaon-Chaufula-Navare-Shirur.
On Tuesday, the march will stay in the Chokhidani and Kharadi areas before proceeding to Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate on Wednesday.
Wednesday’s Traffic Diversions:
Vehicles travelling from Ahmednagar to Pune city will be diverted to Solapur Road via Kesnand-Theur from Theur Phata (Lonikand).
Vehicles from Waghori area will be diverted to Wagholi-Avalwadi-Manjari Khurd-Manjari Budruk-Keshavnagar-Mundhwa Chowk.
Vehicles going to Ahmednagar from Pune city will be directed towards Ahmadnagar via Alandi Road Junction and Vishrantwadi-Dhanori-Lohgaon-Wagholi from Chandrama Chowk.
The Pune Traffic Branch assures that as the Maratha reservation march progresses, efforts will be made to ensure smooth traffic flow behind the procession. However, they urge motorists to cooperate with traffic police by adhering to the provided alternative routes.
