‘Vision-2020’ in Action: Pimpri-Chinchwad Court Project Advances with Tender Commencement

The construction of the long-anticipated Pimpri-Chinchwad Court building has gained substantial momentum as the Public Works Department (PWD) initiates the tender process. This development marks a significant milestone in the realization of goals set under the ‘Vision-2020’ initiative, according to BJP leader and MLA Mahesh Landge.

The proposed Pimpri-Chinchwad Court Complex, earmarked for Moshi, has received approval from the Maharashtra state government, with a total budget allocation of Rs 86 crore 24 lakh 51 thousand 166 for the project. The PWD, Pune District Administration, has commenced the tendering process, inviting bids from qualified and capable contractors, organizations, and companies based on the B-2 pattern’s specified conditions, through the online tender system.

The e-tender availability period spans from September 11, 2023, to October 3, 2023, with a pre-tender discussion scheduled for interested contractors on September 20, 2023, at the Public Works Department, Pune. The tender opening date is set for October 5, 2023. Detailed tender information can be accessed via the website www.mahapwd.gov.in.

The long-pending issue of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Court building, which had lingered due to a lack of political resolve, has now seen significant progress. The local lawyers’ association and legal experts consistently urged the government to address this matter.

MLA Mahesh Landge took the initiative to champion this cause, raising the issue during the tenure of then Chief Minister of the state, Devendra Fadnavis. However, progress faced delays during the Mahavikas Aghadi’s rule. It was only with the support of the state Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that funds were allocated for the court building in November 2022.

Furthermore, an advisory body was appointed to oversee the project, and construction work subsequently commenced. The current government has now set the stage for the actual construction work to begin following the tender process, with the court building expected to be available for Pimpri-Chinchwad residents within the next two years.

MLA Landge expressed his satisfaction, highlighting that the decision to construct a building for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Court was made under the ‘Vision-2020’ initiative. The four-story spacious building in Moshi represents a significant milestone for the region and stands as a source of pride for the legal community and residents alike.

He urged the PWD department to expedite the tender process within the stipulated timeline and commence construction work. Anticipated dignitaries, including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, are expected to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for November 2023.
