Retaliatory Assault in Nigdi: PCMC Contractor Targeted Following Prior Complaint, Police Investigate

In a shocking incident on Sunday morning, a contractor associated with the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) was brutally assaulted by a group of individuals in what appears to be a retaliation for filing a complaint against them. The victim, identified as Nafees Salin Shaikh, had lodged a complaint against the assailants at the local police station, leading to the disturbing incident.

The assault unfolded at approximately 8:15 AM in the Otaskim area of Nigdi, where Shaikh resides in the Tathagata Housing Society. The attackers, identified as Arbaz Sheikh, Munna alias Faiyaz Shaikh, Kalwa alias Sarfaraz Sheikh, and Riyaz Sheikh, gathered outside Shaikh’s residence, initiating verbal abuse.

Shaikh, responding to the commotion, confronted the accused, who escalated the confrontation by referencing his recent complaint. The verbal altercation quickly turned violent, with the assailants resorting to stones, iron cutters, and physical force to assault Shaikh.

Prompt intervention by the Nigdi Police resulted in the apprehension of the four accused individuals. They now face charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 324, 504, 506, and 34, along with relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act.

The Nigdi Police are actively investigating the incident to ensure justice is served and to prevent any potential escalation of violence or retaliation.
