Pune: PCMC Launches Special Campaign to Reclaim Footpaths in Pimpri-Chinchwad City

In a significant move to prioritize pedestrian convenience and road development, Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh has announced a special campaign set to kick off on September 5th. The campaign’s core objective is to clear encroachments from footpaths in Pimpri-Chinchwad city, Pune, ushering in a new era of accessibility and safety for pedestrians.

The primary focus of this campaign is the eradication of encroachments that have encroached upon the city’s footpaths. The overarching vision of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is to revamp road infrastructure to meet the city’s burgeoning traffic needs. Extensive endeavors are underway to provide citizens with well-defined pedestrian paths, dedicated cycle lanes, and roads optimized for public transport.

Notably, the PCMC has already taken commendable steps by constructing bicycle lanes for children at various locations across the city. This proactive initiative has been warmly received by residents. However, in some areas, encroachments have marred the effectiveness of these paths. Commissioner Singh has unequivocally stated that these obstructions will be promptly addressed and removed.

As the campaign gears up for its September 5th launch, the residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad can look forward to safer and more accessible footpaths, further enhancing the city’s livability and promoting sustainable modes of transportation.
