Proposal to set up new IT park in Pimpri-Chinchwad? It may be set up in Moshi-Charholi-Chikhali

Pimpri Chinchwad

PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: It has been decided to develop a new IT park in Pimpri-Chinchwad, which is known as an industrial city, auto hub and IT hub. BJP MLA Mahesh Landge has taken the initiative and is studying the state government’s IT policy to ensure that the first project is set up in Moshi-Charholi-Chikhali, which are fast developing villages.

The first IT and related services policy was formed in 1998. Because of the effective implementation of the policy, there was continuous increase in this field and exports also rose. This strengthened the foundation of the IT industry in the state. Today, Maharashtra is one of the best investment destinations in Asia in IT. Against this background, the government made changes in the policy and has prepared a new IT and IT-related policy-2023 and has invited suggestions and objections.
There was a positive discussion between MLA Mahesh Landge, Civic Chief and Administrator Shekhar Singh and Credai member and builder Arvind Jain on effective implementation of new IT-2023 policy in Pimpri Chinchwad.

The new IT-2023 policy gives importance to setting up of IT parks, IT software products, data centre and AVGC etc. It is an effort to establish Maharashtra as the technology capital of the country. To achieve this objective, agencies which produce residential and business projects will be encouraged. They include waiving of stamp duty, energy reformulation, relief in electricity charges, help in market development assistance, help in patents, rebate in property tax, freedom to set up IT zones in residential, commercial and green zones, status of very important service, infrastructure and additional FSI. The state government is going to encourage settlements to be set up over 10 acres where 50 pc area will be for IT projects and remaining 50 pc for any other use.

MLA Mahesh Landge said, “The new IT-2023 and IT-related policy aims to attract new investment of ₹95,000 crores in the future. This will create 35 lakh new jobs in the state. We want to implement this policy and are keen that a project is set up in the fast developing Charholi-Moshi-Chikhali residential corridor. This will make up for lack of development in the area. We are hopeful that new jobs will be created, local businesses get a boost, increase civic body’s revenue and employment opportunities for sons of soil. We have had positive discussions with Civic Chief Shekhar Singh and the local administration should conduct a study as per instructions of the state government. We have made a demand that a meeting should be held with Credai, builders’ organisation, PCMC officials and people’s representatives.”
