PIMPRI: As per the order of the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal (MAT), issued after examining the eligibility for re-appointment on deputation, Pradeep Jambhale-Patil has been again appointed as Additional Municipal Commissioner for a period of two years.
The state government had appointed Deputy Municipal Commissioner Smita Zagde as Additional Municipal Commissioner on deputation in PCMC on September 13, 2022. However, the civic chief had not allowed her to join for 10 days. Later, the government cancelled Zagde’s appointment on September 22, 2022 and appointed Pradeep Jambhale as Additional Municipal Commissioner. But Zagde had challenged the appointment of Jambhle in the MAT.
Jambhale’s tenure will be till September 22, 2023. The MAT had ordered the state government to check the eligibility of Jambhle. Hence, his eligibility was checked again and his appointment as additional municipal commissioner on deputation was continued for two years. Finally, the controversy over the post of additional municipal commissioner has ended.
