Pimpri-Chinchwad RTO Unveils Attractive ‘LD’ Series for Two-Wheelers

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Sub Regional Transport Office (RTO) is set to roll out a brand new series of registration numbers exclusively for two-wheelers, labeled as the ‘LD’ series. This series presents a golden opportunity for vehicle owners to secure distinctive registration numbers. The process for advance applications and auctions to acquire these eye-catching numbers is already in full swing.

For car owners interested in reserving an attractive registration number from the freshly launched two-wheeler series, applications can be submitted on October 19 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. By paying three times the standard fee, you can claim your preferred number. To secure these coveted registration numbers for two-wheelers, applications should be submitted on October 20, during the same hours.

Here are the key details for applicants:

  • Visit the new vehicle registration section of the RTO office.
  • Submit a Demand Draft (DD) favoring ‘DYRTO, Pimpri Chinchwad’ from a Nationalized Scheduled Bank located in Pune.
  • Provide proof of address, Aadhaar card, identity card, an attested copy of the PAN card, and a mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card.
  • Present a photo ID for identity verification.
  • Submit documents such as an attested copy of the Aadhaar card and a telephone bill as proof of address.

Envelopes containing the DDs will be opened on the same day at 3:30 PM in the presence of the Registration Authority within the Deputy Regional Transport Officer’s room. The applicant with the highest DD amount will secure their desired number. A vehicle number reservation message will be sent to the applicant’s mobile, and the receipt can be collected from the office five days after notification.

It’s important to note that once a registration number is reserved, it cannot be changed. If the vehicle is not presented for registration within 30 days from the reservation date, the reserved registration number will be automatically canceled, and the fee will be credited to the government. The reservation fee for a specific registration number is non-refundable.

The Deputy Regional Transport Officer emphasized that any changes in the charges for attractive numbers would be applied as prescribed.

For four-wheel vehicles, the list of available registration numbers will be posted on the office notice board on October 20. Applicants interested in participating in the auction for these numbers must submit their DDs in sealed envelopes at the office by 2:30 p.m. on the same day. At 3:30 PM, in the Deputy Regional Transport Officer’s room, the envelopes will be opened in the presence of the Registration Officer, and the highest DD amount will secure the preferred number.

For two-wheelers, the list of registration numbers will be posted on the office notice board on October 23. Those wishing to participate in the auction for two-wheelers should deposit their DDs in sealed envelopes at the office by 2:30 PM on the 23rd of October.
