Pimpri Chinchwad Police Seize 59 Illegal Gas Cylinders in Alandi Raid

The anti-extortion squad of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate conducted a successful raid in Alandi, seizing 59 illegal gas cylinders. Acting on the directives of Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey to curb illegal businesses, the police arrested an individual involved in the unauthorized refilling and sale of gas cylinders.

According to a press release from the Pimpri Chinchwad Police, the operation was led by Arvind Pawar, senior police inspector of the anti-extortion squad, along with assistant police inspector Uddhav Khade and other officers. Police constable Pradeep Godambe received crucial information about the illegal activity, leading to the swift action.

The raid targeted a location where gas was being unlawfully refilled from sealed cylinders into smaller 4 kg gas cylinders, which were then sold in the Alandi area. The 2-hour operation resulted in the apprehension of Sandeep Narsingh Landge, the alleged offender. Seized goods, valued at Rs 62,800, included 59 gas cylinders.

A case has been registered against Sandeep Landge under Sections 420, 285, and 286 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused is now in the custody of the Alandi Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.

This decisive action was taken under the guidance of Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Dr. Sanjay Shinde, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime, Swapna Gore. The operation was executed by Senior Police Inspector Arvind Pawar, Assistant Police Inspector Uddhav Khade, and members of the anti-extortion squad, including Pradeep Godambe, Ashish Botke, and Kiran Katkar.
