Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Invites Citizen Input for Upcoming Budget: Shape Your City’s Future

In a bid to ensure that the forthcoming budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025 aligns with the aspirations and needs of its residents, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is actively seeking input from citizens. This tradition of involving citizens in the budgeting process, initiated in 2007, continues as the corporation remains dedicated to enhancing the lives of its community members.

Commissioner and Administrator of the Municipal Corporation, Shekhar Singh, recently announced the corporation’s commitment to consider citizens’ recommendations across various sectors as they craft the budget. Citizens are encouraged to propose works that they deem essential for their respective areas, and they can do so by visiting their local area office or ward. To facilitate this process, “Citizen Notification Application Forms” in the prescribed format are available free of charge during office hours in each zonal office, as well as at the Municipal Corporation building. Additionally, the form can be accessed on the official website at www.pcmcindia.gov.in. The Municipal Corporation will accept citizen notifications until November 10, 2023, at 5:00 PM, through the relevant field offices.

The proposed works will be meticulously reviewed by the respective Zonal Officer and Executive Engineer, and suitable development projects will be included in the budget. It’s important for citizens to exercise care when submitting their suggestions, ensuring that they adhere to the budgetary limit, with large-scale works exceeding 10 lakhs being excluded from consideration. The corporation also cannot entertain proposals for works deemed illegal by the Supreme Court. Therefore, citizens are advised to accurately specify the nature and location of their proposed works in their notification applications and use the prescribed work code numbers.

For any clarifications or information regarding their notification applications, citizens are encouraged to contact the Regional Office or the Sarathi Helpline at 8888006666 before submission. It’s vital to note that applications submitted at any other field office will not be considered during the selection process. After submitting an application, citizens can track the status of their proposed work based on the file number to determine if it has been accepted in the budget. In case of non-acceptance, they will receive an explanation.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh underscored that while a person can file a single application for one job, they are welcome to submit multiple applications for multiple tasks. He appealed to citizens to provide constructive and valuable suggestions, assuring them that their input is highly regarded and appreciated in the shaping of the city’s future.
