In a bid to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance road safety, the Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police in Pune has announced the establishment of P1 and P2 parking zones in the vicinity of Shiv Sai Lane in Pimple Saudagar.
The designated area, situated between Shiv Sai Lane and 7 Star Hotel near Govind Yashada Chowk, is marked by a dense concentration of commercial establishments and residential complexes on both sides of the road. This popularity draws a significant number of customers, each arriving with their vehicles to access the commercial shops. However, the narrow road space coupled with vehicles parked along both sides contributes to frequent traffic gridlocks, increasing the likelihood of minor and major accidents in the area.
With a focus on ensuring the safety and efficient movement of traffic within Pimpri Chinchwad city, the authorities have issued the following final directives, effective August 8, 2023:
- Creation of P1 and P2 Parking Zones: The area flanked by Shiv Sai Lane and Govind Yashada Chowk, adjacent to the 7 Star Hotel, will be designated as P1 and P2 parking zones. These zones are expected to alleviate congestion by streamlining parking arrangements for visitors and customers of the commercial establishments in the area.
The Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police is actively working to implement these changes and address the ongoing traffic challenges.
